English Department
Philosophy
The Moeller English Department works to develop and expand the language experiences of each student toward success in college and beyond. Classes integrate several components: reading skills, writing skills, grammar and mechanics, forms of composition, literary studies, research skills, speaking and listening skills. Year-long genre courses are American literature, British literature, and world literature. Special points of emphasis include writing process, writing workshop, team learning, and interdisciplinary teaching.
