Science Department
PHILOSOPHY
The Science department involves students of all ability levels in acquiring knowledge of the physical and biological world and the work of God in nature. We believe that students must be prepared for life not only through an accumulation of knowledge, but also through an appreciation of life and the miracle of creation.
We feel that observation, experimentation, the recording of data, and the search for logical conclusions are essential in the development of the scientific approach to problem solving.
It is our belief that students should be exposed to as many career opportunities as possible during course work to aid in the choice of future study or work. We think that the teaching of science is most effective when approached from a variety of perspectives including lecture, discussion, group interaction, laboratory work, audio-visual supplementation , and research. All of these can be important in the development of logical thinking and problem solving.
